~Helena Roerich, Author, Agni Yoga Series, Heart.
Whether the heart be called the abode of Elohim or the synthesis of synthesis, it still remains the focal point. Even those who recognize in the heart only its lower physiological functions, even they have an attitude of caution for the heart. How much more deeply, then must he who knows about the magnet and silvery thread hearken to the heart!
Therefore the Teacher draws one away from everything narrowly physical, in order to remind one through each organ about the spiritual world.
It is a festival for Us each time a pure direction of thought is projected into the sphere of invisible existence. One must lead into the abode of Elohim with such perseverance as though danger pursued the entering one.
One may recognize the path of the chosen ones when the invisible world has become real and accessible to them; then one can notice the growth of consciousness, and the very organs of the body become transfigured, imbued by the link with Hierarachy. ~Heart, pg 9, section 3.
Thus the heart is verily an international organ.,,,,How necessary it is to learn to feel one's heart not as one's own, but as the universal one. Only through this sensation can one liberate oneself from egotism, safeguarding the individuality of accumulations. It is difficult to contain individuality with universal containment, but not vainly is the magnet of the heart connected with the "chalice."
One can understand how the heart irradiates a special light which is refracted in every way by the nerve substance. ~Heart, pg 12, section 7.
Heartlessness is nothing save an un-culturral condition of the heart. Faint-heartedness is a limitation of thinking. Intolerance belongs to the same family of abominations, which impoverishes the sacred vessel of the heart. You know already that the subtle, intensified heart creates an impetus like a dynamo, thus proving that it is a vessel of universal energy. But the culture of the heart does not accumulate if it does not receive proportionate nourishment; so the best accumulator is inactive without protection and correct connection. The heart demands constant nourishment, otherwise, deprived of the highest link, it decays. ~Heart, pg 12, section 9.
We pay attention to the transmuter of Prana, to the lungs, which transmit the essence of the heart as the affirmation of world balance.
~Heart, pg 13, section 10, par 1.
One may ask: which energy is presumed, when one speaks of the heart?
Of course, this is the same AUM, the psychic energy of all three worlds. ~Heart, pg 15, section 14.
The spark of the spirit kindles the heart, hence Our Teaching is in need of spreading through the fire of the heart. ~Heart, pg 62, section 100.
How majestic is the Law of Hierarchy! How constructive are all laws of Hierarchy! Verily, the ladder reaches Heaven. Thus each one striving to Hierarchy can fulfill the Higher Will through a task given Above. Thus we build by Hierarchy. ~Heart, pg 62, section 101.
What is the treasure of the heart? Not only well-wishing; not only compassion; not only devotion on the Hierarchy; but consonance with the Cosmic Consciousness, when the heart besides its own rhythm partakes in the cosmic rhythm. Such heart may be trusted; it possesses straight-knowledge; it feels and knows, and as a manifested link with the Higher World it expresses the indisputable.
